The Prooflytics Pixel
First-party tracking on your own site — installation, consent, verification.
The Pixel is a small script on your website that records visits and events first-party — your data, on your domain, feeding your analytics rather than someone else's.
Installing
- Create a Pixel in Settings → Data sources. Its page shows install instructions with your snippet already filled in — paste it into your site's
<head>. - Not the person who edits the site? Use the send to developer option on the same page — it emails the instructions to whoever is.
- The Pixel's page verifies the installation live, so you can see it working before you leave the screen.
Consent and privacy
The Pixel works with your consent banner rather than around it:
- Before a visitor consents, it records only a minimal, anonymous, cookieless signal — enough to count the visit, never enough to identify the person.
- After consent, full measurement applies and a later lead can be tied back to the visit that produced it.
There is no mode to configure — both behaviours are two halves of one design, and the Pixel's page states plainly what happens at each consent state. The consent setup panel on the Pixel's page shows what it detected about your banner and what, if anything, needs wiring.
Checking its health
The Pixel's page shows what has been arriving — event counts, the last event received, consent breakdown, and any events that could not be processed with the reason why. If a number on a dashboard looks off, this page is the first place to look.
