Is this safe to connect to a production Supabase project?

We request read-only access and only query the tables you map during setup. We recommend creating a read-only Postgres role scoped to your analytics tables.

Can I use this for webhook-based conversion tracking instead?

If your product already emits webhooks, the Custom Webhook connector is simpler. Supabase direct is better when you want to query existing tables without adding webhook code.
